The Rules: These are a set of guidelines on what is good to say on this site.
These rules have been set out to ensure the longevity of this emulator distribution site, and the cleanliness of it's content. Please show your appreciation for staff/crew by following these rules.
[edit] Rules or Recommendations
- Explain Changes
- MediaWiki makes a talk page for every content page that is created. This means that you can explain what you have contributed. This will help make the maintainers jobs much easier to do, without all the random errors from template upgrades and vandals.
- Emulator Descriptions
- When you are adding your own two-cents worth to an emulator's description, then please follow these simple recommendations:
- Roms + Emulators -- DO NOT talk about them in the same sentence, page, or even website. When you talk about roms, you DO NOT talk about emulators at the same time. When you talk about emulators, you DO NOT talk about roms. The only case when you talk about roms and emulators together are the Home Brew games, which are free to distribute anyway -- Do not talk about how an illegal rom (eg. Super Mario 64 DS) plays on a certain emulator. Talk about how the home brew roms play.
- Mention games such as "Super Mario 64" only as "the most popular game for the Nintendo 64", Do Not mention how it runs on the emulator.
- Please use the Template:Emulator_Specs template for emulator specifications description. This is for ease of use, and can be edited easily. Saves the amount of repeated code on a single page.
- Stub Short Pages -- Make it easier for others to expand by using the
{{stub}} tag. This adds that page to the stubs category, which makes it easier for others to see it needs expanding. It also places a large blue banner on the page as a visual notification of page shortness.
- Be Fair, Be Clear, Be Correct.
- There is nothing worse than false information, hard to read content or spam. Spam is not fair! Spelling and grammar are important in trying to get your message across clearly. It is also more believable if the spelling and grammar are correct too.
- Finally, buy us more beer! We have plenty of stubs on this site waiting for people to expand, hell! This page is a stub, but is protected so only sysops can add to.
