Evolution Updater (a.k.a Ev0Upd8r) is the name of the proprietary system in place at DS-Downloads.com (and all of it's 2nd tier mirrors).
Ev0Upd8r is currently in BETA testing (v1.3BETA). The first BETA of Ev0Upd8r (v1.0B) was brought online on the s2nd of March, 2008.
Current Capabilities
- Dynamically scans multiple repositories across the internet
- Downloads files that are not currently in the DS Downloads database
- Sources NDS boxshots
- Sources NDS icons
- Sources information about the rom
- Updates the DS Downloads game database to include the file on DS-Downloads.com
The bot is set up so that releasing files is it's main priority. It does not care if some information is not yet available. Hence you may see some of the newest roms have no images or release information, but the bot will fill this in on the first pass through the repository after that info becomes available.
Ev0Upd8r is not currently for sale as it contains a lot of information that may infringe the rights of other websites (including backdoors, source code and trade secrets of other websites that not even we are supposed to have). To maintain the utmost good will towards our brother sites, we refuse to release the source code of Ev0Upd8r.
