Description: This is NOT a dreamcast emulator. This is a CD/DVD drive emulator.

Basically, you load your game image into Alcohol, mount it as a virtual drive, and you computer will believe that you have a new CD drive and there is a physical Dreamcast game inside that new drive. This is useful for emulators that require you to have a physical CD rather than an image file of the game.

[edit] Self Booting Images

If you have a self booting image (usually always .cdi files), Usually, you can burn them to CDR (Not CDRW!) with DiscJuggler, with boot mode on, and they will boot up. Generally Kalisto and Echelon rips are made to be burnt to 700 or 800mb CDRs (ie. have portions of their audio ripped out to facilitate burning). The best way to find out who ripped your image is to read the .nfo file with notepad.

[edit] Utopia Boot Disk

From http://dreamcast-talk.com/guides/utopia.html

Here you will find the steps you need to create a Utopia Boot up Disc. A Utopia Boot Disc is used to play Import, or backup/copied games.

Step 1.
First, you need a CD burning program. If you don't have it already, download the Padus DiscJuggler Demo edition.

Step 2.
Second, download the Utopia Boot Disk CD Image here - Image:Utopia boot disk-dc.zip. Unpack the file using winzip or winrar.

Step 3.
Third, Open up the Disc Juggler program. Click File> New> Burn CD and DVD images, then click ok. In the source box, click on the paper and cd button and find were the utopia cd image is located at. In the destination box, choose where your CD burner drive is located at. (make sure you have a blank cd-r in the drive) Leave everything in the advanced tab as it is.
